Despite it's importance as an area within visual art, the term 'Craft' flounders by possessing a plurality of meanings that highlight a lack of confidence and clarity over the words original definition. One may attribute this to:
1: The separation of making from meaning.
2. The separation of art into categories of high and low.
3. The puzzled ordinary consumer.
This transience has been demonstrated typographically, through a series of letterpress printed definitions that have been recorded from interactions with people in and around Peckham in order to form a new dictionary of craft.
